Well, where do I start. I guess I'll start by saying I am retired Air Force. The best 22 years of my life. I am married and have 4 children. My oldest, Steven (33), is married himself and has 2 children, Faith Lynn (11) and William (9). My wife's name is Kim. The 2 children at home are Andrew (17) and Abbie (13). I know that only comes to 3 children, but we lost our 4th child, Brandon, 2 years ago. I still can't make myself say I only have 3 children. But enough of that.
I started running back in Feb 2009. It all began as a health challenge at my work. It was a 'biggest loser' sorta thing. I started at the gym first that January. About a month later, my son the football player said he wanted to start running. I said "hey, I'll join you.". The first morning I barely made it around the corner and was out of breath. After a day or 2, my son's coach told him that he needed him bigger and to stop running. I kept going! The rest is history I guess. Since then, I have run 4 half marathons and countless 5K, 10K, 15K, and various other distance races.
This blog is my attempt to put into words how I feel about running and the ups and downs that go along with it.
